Me in a few words
Sipke Hoekstra (1976)
Father of four, husband, composer, musicologist, entrepreneur and (supervisory) board member in the Netherlands. I was eleven years old when I got admitted to a pre-preparatory training at the Conservatory. Later I studied at the Conservatories of Zwolle and Utrecht and the Universities of Groningen and, again, Utrecht. I conducted some youth and student orchestra's during my adolescence, my own works included.
Received a master in musicology and studied some counterpoint and composition after that.
For several years I worked as marketeer and consultant for many well-known artists, ensembles and festivals in The Netherlands. Nowadays my days are easily filled with composing, fundraising and family life. When there's any time left, I like to explore the fields of history and genealogy, archery and enjoy nature by boat.
